Who are Blackdown Shepherd Huts
Expertise rooted in knowledge
Established in 2011 by cousins Will Vickery and George Bannister, Blackdown Shepherd Huts have gone on to become one of the foremost Shepherd Huts companies in the UK. Will, the owner, used his 20 years of carpentry and bespoke building experience to build his first hut in his garage.

Shepherd Huts Solutions
capturing the essence of modern glamping
Turnkey Shepherd Hut
Our Turnkey Heritage Shepherd Huts. They are delivered, clad in 0.7mm galvanised steel, painted in your choice of colours, mounted on a metal or optional oak chassis. You turn the key and your hut is ready to go - they arrive fully-fitted with a pull-down wall bed, kitchen, woodburner and shower room.
Shepherd's Brace
Our opulent Blackdown Brace Shepherd Hut consists of two hand-crafted shepherd huts which have been joined together.
The concept is constantly being fine-tuned. The second design was a family brace followed by an outdoor brace. In 2023, a revamp was required which resulted in the Blackdown Fusion Brace.
Meridian Workspace Hut
The Meridian workspace hut has been created as a solution to working from home. The Meridian is a place to work and importantly a place to just ‘be’.
The Meridian hut has been designed with many things in mind including as an escape, a hideaway, a space for you and for others, a heritage space but with bang up-to-date technology.

Tasker Shepherd's Hut
The Tasker is a hut-build allowing you to build your own dream artisan hut with our own self-build system.
We provide pre-prepared elements which need specialised euipment or componenets but after that, it's all down to you and your skillset. Whilst this allows you to save money, it also allows you to put your own personal touch along the way.
The Retreat Hut
Often referred to as our 'Heritage Hut', this hut is based on an old Victorian shepherds hut’ which firmly captures the vintage hut look.
Clad in our signature feather-edge oak and built on an oak chassis, these huts can be fitted out with beds or like some customers prefer to do, can be fitted out with their own furniture and fittings.

Towby Catering Hut
The Towby Hut is flexible and versatile with real character enabling you to stand out from the crowd at events. A towable hut moves you ahead of your competition.
If you are a start-up business or a farm looking to diversify, these huts provide an ideal opportunity to generate income. We can be as involved as you like with the fit out including providing an interior finish or you can take over and perhaps fit your own finish.

Blackdown Shepherd Huts has provided six shepherd huts to be used as accommodation and set in the landscaped lakeside gardens of Another Place hotel. Visitors can choose between couples huts and family huts.
